Thelma Noble

Thelma Noble

As a young girl Thelma enjoyed watching her father weld, and was fascinated with the magic of the process, assisting him in the design & manufacture of small travel trailers, which he named "The Nina Playhouse" after her family nickname.

This fascination stayed with Thelma, and as an adult led her to enroll in numerous welding courses. Resulting in another discovery. She considers her experience with her father the inspiration that directed her to the type of art collages and sculptures she currently creates

She enjoys using items normally thought of as disposable and creating something fun and often provocative from them.

She is an accomplished weaver of utilitarian & Shaker style baskets.

She uses colored pencils in creating beautiful Mandalas based on visions during meditation experiences.

After living in various parts of the US for 20 years, she longed to resettle near her Florida-based family, moving to Floral City, with her husband Dave, in 2001. After purchasing their first historic home on the Avenue of Oaks they naturally became involved in its history leading them to purchase and save from demolition, the Historic Reid House, also known as The Pink House Art Studio.

Although she is the only member of Studio Seven Fine Art Group of Florida, without a formal art education, she has found respect, and encouragement in being part of such a professional group of creative, fun loving individuals.

Thelma can be reached at 352-726-2431
