Ann Aumayr Covington
Ann Covington was born and raised in South Africa, a country whose wide ethnic and cultural diversity has spawned a variety of artistic styles.
Opportunities for adventure and Ann’s natural curiosity and keen interest in arts, culture and the environment have inspired her to visit more than 50 countries.
She moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and though she enjoyed her six years working for Mattel Toys, she never felt at home in the metropolis. Floral City, with its beautiful trees and lakes, its rich heritage, and warm welcoming creative people have captured her heart and she is now very happy to call it home.
Ann is the founder of "Studio Seven" the art group has been meeting weekly for over five years.
She works in many mediums, including oils, watercolor, acrylic, pencil and pen & ink. She designs and paints indoor and outdoor murals and her work has sold both locally and internationally. Ann wrote and published a book, "Sketches of Historic Floral City" now in it’s second printing.
In 2009 Floral City businesses commissioned her to design and paint an 80-foot mural for the "new" town center. This large artwork may be seen on the east wall of the Hardware Store.
